For active zander fishing, lures between 7.5 cm and 12.5 cm tend to work best, depending on the size of the baitfish in your water. As always, it pays to experiment and work out what triggers a response and gets zander on the unhooking mat.
Soft lures are without doubt the most popular and most widely used. That said, slender minnow-style plugs and spin jigs are also excellent zander lures. Especially at night or on difficult days, it is well worth trying something beyond the standard soft lure.
